WELCOME TO SOUTHERN’S LEARNING COMMUNITY!!

Southern’s Learning Community (SLC) is committed to increasing

student achievement in all academic areas. As a result of this commitment,

the school has adopted the Professional Learning Community framework

created by Dr. Richard Dufour. The PLC model creates teacher

collaborative teams that focus on four essential questions.

What do we want students to learn?

How will we know when they have learned it?

What will we do if they do not learn it?

What will we do if they do learn it?

The PLC framework empowers teachers to work collaboratively while

tracking student progress. Our teachers meet weekly to share ideas, best

practices, and student data. This framework has already created great

success within our school!!! 

We hope this webpage is not only a resource for our teachers, but our

parents as well.  After all, our community is not complete without parent involvement!
