Welcome
We are happy to provide an opportunity for Southern High School students to recover credits in the Southern High School Extended Evening Academy, so that our students can be on track to graduate with their cohort. This is going to be a wonderful journey as we work together to ensure success for every student.
Purpose
Reduce the dropout rate and increase the graduation cohort rate by providing students with options for recovering credits and skills to increase comprehension. Students in the
Evening
Academy will also be eligible to receive scholarships to attend the Restoration Institute for Leaders (RIL), a seven-week program during the summer. The RIL program offers daily leadership building activities, community involvement, reading and math tutorials, and course recovery based on individual student needs. Students can earn at least 3 credits in the RIL program. The RIL Program is not a SHS program. It is a separate program that is facilitated by Ms. Joyner, the Executive Director of the RIL Program.
